Fun & Elegant Dress Card

I've seen a few dress cards over the past few months and wanted to make one today for a girlfriend's birthday since she's all girlie!   I'm very happy how it turned out and hope she likes it!

I used my Gypsy, in shadow feature, and cut out 3 dress cuts from Gypsy Wanderings (the dress was 3.54 W x 5.08 L).   I decorated the top layer with different types of ribbon (secured by score tape starting from the bottom up), stamped small white flowers randomly and then added some pink bling.

The second dress layer was adhered to the back of the top layer so that the ribbon ends didn't show in the back.  The third layer of the dress was scored near the top of the dress and then score tape was added just above the score line and then this piece was adhered to the back of the top layer.  Does this makes sense?!?!?!

Goodies used ~
  • Cardstock - PTI Sweet Blush (dress)
  • Ribbon - PTI Raspberry Fizz Swiss Dots & Grosgrain 5/8"; Michael's misc. pink flower ribbon
  • Stamps:  PTI Stamps - Around & About,  small flower;  PTI Signature Greetings, "Hope your Day is Fabulous"
  • Ink - PTI Raspberry Fizz (for sentiment); ColorBox Frost White (small flower)
Thanks for stopping by.

Toodles,  Jude

P.S.  Added my card to Craft Junkie Too's T.G.I.F Linky Party - check it out!

Happy Birthday card using Paper Pups, Cricut

This is another card I made for my son's birthday ~ given to him by another of his fur-sisters!  He has two fur-sisters, Lulu and Roxy!

All of the die cuts are from the Cricut cart. Paper Pups, with the exception of the fire hydrant and the green paper with the paw prints (both are from DCWV The Pet Stack).

The base cardstock is PTI "Pure Poppy" and miscellaneous scraps of paper were used to cut out the dog, the dog house, and the sentiment.  For the dog house, I embossed the white cardstock layer with my Cuttlebug folder Distressed Stripes, and then inked it lightly with Ranger's Antique Linen Distressed Ink.  The base cardstock was also embossed with the Fiskars "Paws" texture plate.

I also used Stickles for the party hat, which was from Paper Pups.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment was also from Paper Pups.

Happy Birthday "Best Buddies" card for Boy, using Cricut

The above card was made for my son's birthday ~ given to him by one of his fur-sisters!  LOL

The image was cut from A Child's Year Cricut cartridge, along with the shadow feature (PTI Dark Chocolate).

I used ink blending techniques with different colored Distressed Inks to give the background layer some shading and color, as well as around the outside of my boy/dog cutout. I then stamped used Background Text Styles (PTI) with chocolate brown ink.  I LOVE this look!  I stitched around the outside of this layer with a tan colored thread.

To do the sentiment, I used an embossing pen to write the sentiment (it's not very straight though!) and then and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I also stiched the sides of the brown cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!
